Port Blair, Sept 15: The Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray has demanded payment of HPCA/PCA (Hospital Patient Care Allowance/Patient Care Allowance) or Risk Allowance to the Group C and D employees of the Health Department.
In a letter to the Lt. Governor, Mr Ray said that a delegation of the aggrieved employees including Ward Attendant, Ayahs and Safari Karamcharis met him recently and informed that the benefit of the allowance has been discontinued since March 31, 2009. Uniform allowances as admissible to the employees are also not being paid to them, he said urging the Lt. Governor to issue appropriate directions of the Health authorities for extending the benefits to the employees as admissible to them in consonance to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s OM Dated Feb 17, 2012.
