Port Blair, Sept 15: As directed by the INTUC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma, KP Aboobaker, General Secretary has written letters of demands for immediate settlement to the Executive Engineer, Electricity Dept., Diglipur and to the Executive Engineer, Construction Division-I,APWD, Diglipur for the welfare of the employees of the respective departments of Diglipur.
Demands for providing road transport to the employees of the electricity dept from Diglipur to Kalpong and from the main gate to the power house, beside, immediate repair of the offices of the Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer which are dilapidated and not suitable for the workers to work there and providing of departmental accommodation to the employees working under Electricity dept. of Diglipur Division were submitted to the EE, Electricity Dept.
The demands for clearing on the last day of superannuation of pension benefits of the retiring work charged employees, immediate repairs and maintenance of all the labour barracks, construction of toilet blocks to the barracks, filling up of the vacant posts of carpenter, Assistant Carpenter, Mason, Assistant Mason, Painter and Mechanical fitter and to constitute the works committee of CD-I. placed before the Executive Engineer, Construction Division-I,APWD, Diglipur for the welfare of the employees of the APWD’s Construction Division, department, Diglipur.
