Port Blair, Sept. 11: The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, attended the Power Ministers Conference, held at New Delhi on 10.09.2013 and made a presentation on the power situation in A&N Islands.
He requested the Power Ministry to provide assistance for modernizing the transmission and distribution system in A&N Islands and also help in developing renewable sources which will be suitable and successful in the Islands. Besides, more efficient generator sets and alternative fuels should be considered on priority.
