Port Blair, Sept. 04: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament of A & N Islands has taken up the case of coaching of prospective students of A & N Islands for Civil Service Examination conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) with the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands.
Recent past A & N Administration has entered into an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Saidi Durai Swamy’s Manidha Naeyam IAS Academy to prepare Nicobari Tribals for IAS & IPS Examination. The MP has lauded and highly appreciated the endeavor of A & N Administration, further he is also requested to A & N Administration to extent similar coaching facilities to non- tribal students belonging to A & N Islands, who are deprived from the coaching facilities in the remotest Islands.
He also suggested to conduct the screening test in different Island, similar to National Talent Search Examination to short list 50 candidates atleast per year for the coaching, the proposed coaching would not bring the local aspirants into Civil Service but it will be long impact on holistic development of these Islands.
