Port Blair, Aug 14: In a fatal accident that took place today morning around 9.30 am at Shoal Bay (No 08) a MPLAD bus of Shoal Bay Gram Panchayat, which was en-route to Bambooflat hit a scooter coming from the opposite direction. The scooter rider and the pillion rider were immediately rushed to PHC Wimberly Gunj as both the riders had sustained severe head injuries.
Soon the rider N. Mohammed alias Kunjaan S/o Shri Narapatta Alvi R/o Mannarghat succumbed to injuries at PHC W/Gunj. In the meantime the pillion rider Shri Gopal (a Bengali person) was referred to GB Pant Hospital who has also fractured his right leg besides critical head injuries.
