Sri Vijaya Puram, November 1: The Andaman & Nicobar Police organised a Bada Khana at Police Lines, Sri Vijaya Puram, yesterday evening as part of the celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas–2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The gathering brought together officers and personnel from various units and formations in an atmosphere of unity, camaraderie and collective pride.
The occasion was marked by a vibrant cultural programme featuring colourful performances centred on patriotism, national integration and the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. The performances reflected the rich cultural diversity of the country while reinforcing the values of unity, mutual respect and togetherness that form the foundation of a strong and cohesive police force.
Addressing the gathering, the Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, highlighted the significance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and called upon all officers and personnel to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, discipline and national service. He appreciated the dedication, professionalism and commitment of the personnel in discharging their duties and emphasised the importance of teamwork, mutual trust and coordination in strengthening the organisation.
The Bada Khana was complemented by an elaborate and sumptuous spread of food, which was widely appreciated by the gathering. The excellent arrangements, warm hospitality and thoughtfully curated menu added to the festive spirit of the occasion, making the evening a memorable celebration of togetherness and fellowship.
