Sri Vijaya Puram, October 29: Various delegations paid courtesy calls on the Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, at Lok Niwas, Sri Vijaya Puram, today.
Vice Admiral (Retd.) Biswajit Dasgupta, National Maritime Security Coordinator, paid a courtesy call on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed various matters relating to maritime security, strategic preparedness and coordination in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In the same sequence, Rear Admiral Amit Gurbuxani, NM, Chief Instructor (Navy), also paid a courtesy call on the Lieutenant Governor.
Subsequently, a delegation of various sports associations paid a courtesy call on the Lieutenant Governor. During the interaction, meaningful discussions were held on various matters relating to encouraging sporting talent and promoting sports activities in the Islands.
In the same sequence, a delegation of the Purohit Samiti, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, led by Pt. Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, called on the Lieutenant Governor. The delegation apprised the Lieutenant Governor of various matters concerning the glorious history of Sanatan culture, religious traditions and the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Islands.
