Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 08: Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya successfully inaugurated a month-long programme to commemorate Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026 on 8th October 2026, organized by the Department of Computer Science. The initiative was part of the nationwide observance of Cyber Security Awareness Month, aimed at promoting safe and responsible digital practices among students and the wider community.
The inaugural function was graced by Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of developing awareness and adopting responsible practices in the rapidly evolving digital environment.
The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Vinod N.C., Head, Department of Computer Science, who welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest speaker, faculty members and students and highlighted the significance of observing Cyber Security Awareness Month.
An expert lecture was delivered by Advocate Rakesh Pal Gobind, Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Bar Association. He provided valuable insights into various legal and practical aspects of cyber security, as well as the importance of understanding digital rights and responsibilities.
The inaugural function was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Mukta Jagdish, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.
