
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 07: The Department of Historical Studies and the Department of Political Science, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, organized a joint Felicitation Ceremony for students who successfully completed their Summer Internship Programme during May–June 2026 at the A&N Archives, Secretariat, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The programme was graced by Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, who presided as the Chief Guest and distributed Certificates of Completion to the interns. Dr. Ratan Mazumdar, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Historical Studies, and Dr. N. Balakrishnan, Associate Professor of Political Science, along with faculty members and students, attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pearl Devdas congratulated the students and highlighted the importance of preserving, cataloguing and digitizing historical documents and records housed in the Archives. She emphasized their significance in safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of the Islands and encouraged students to utilize their internship experience for future academic and research pursuits.
Dr. Ratan Mazumdar appreciated the students for their commitment and emphasized the value of practical exposure in strengthening classroom learning and developing research skills through firsthand experience with archival materials.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. James L. Vaiphei, Assistant Professor & Internship Supervisor, who expressed gratitude to the principal, faculty members and officials of the A&N Archives, Secretariat, for their support in making the internship programme a success.
