Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 29: An awareness programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) was conducted on 25th September 2026 at 10:30 AM at Veterinary Hospital, Junglighat, South Andaman, under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Rubina Siddique, POSH Act Educator, at the request of the Office of the Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Hospital, Junglighat, with the objective of creating awareness about workplace safety and the prevention of sexual harassment.
During the session, Ms. Rubina Siddique elaborated on the important provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, including the rights and responsibilities of employees, prevention of sexual harassment, the complaint redressal mechanism and the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful and harassment-free working environment.
A total of 23 officers and staff members of Veterinary Hospital, Junglighat, actively participated in the programme. The session provided valuable insights into the provisions of the Act and encouraged the participants to contribute towards ensuring a safe and dignified workplace for all.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to Ms. Rubina Siddique for conducting the awareness session and providing valuable guidance to the participants, a press release from Dept. of AH&VS said.
