Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 27: Students of Andaman Law College visited District Prison, Prothrapur in five batches accompanied by their respective faculty members, as part of their field visit to observe the systems and procedures in place in Prison & Correctional Administration.
As many as 225 students visited the prison on consecutive Saturdays, the last batch of 43 students of first year made a visit on 26.09.2026. Accompanied by their class faculty Ms. Nisha Sikdar, the students had firsthand exposure to the realities of a prison life and how the correctional administrative measures are helping the prisoners and keeping them under strict surveillance along with providing them with various amenities for health and recreation.
Students observed the prison is clean, hygienic and inmates are well behaved and disciplined. Jail authorities explained the procedures in jail administration. They clarified the queries raised by the students.
Dr P V N Sarma Principal Andaman Law College thanked the Prison Authorities for granting permission and the facilitating the students in all the visits.
