Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 27: BPO Little Andaman observed International Sign Language Day on 23rd September 2026 at the Block Resource Room, Little Andaman, with the theme “Hands That Speak, Hearts That Connect.”
The programme was conducted in the gracious presence of BPO Mrs. Darley Samuel and the Chief Guest, Mrs. B. Albakka, Mukhiya Sevika, ICDS Hutbay.
The programme coordinator, Ms Naw Jasleen, warmly welcome the guest and participants.
The programme was facilitated by the Resource Team comprising Mrs. Samima Banu (PST), Ms. M. Priyanka (PST), Mrs. Mohan Prasad (PSRT), Mrs. M. Vijayalakshmi (BRP CwSN), Mrs. Sunita Devi, and Ms. Naw Jasleen. The programme was attended by parents, teachers, and Children with Special Needs (CwSN) students.
A series of playful, interactive, and educational activities related to sign language and communication were conducted for the students. The students actively participated in the activities and thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience. The programme provided an engaging platform to promote awareness, inclusion, effective communication, and the importance of sign language in fostering an inclusive environment.
The celebration concluded on a positive note, with enthusiastic participation from the students, parents, teachers, and staff. The programme successfully highlighted the importance of sign language in strengthening communication and promoting inclusion for persons with hearing and communication difficulties.
