
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 16: The Directorate of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, IIT Madras, exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the quality of school education in the Union Territory through technology-enabled academic support, mentoring and innovative learning initiatives in selected Govt schools of the UT.
The MoU was exchanged between Mr. Aditya Sangotra, Director (Education), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, and Mr. Mohan Satyaranjan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), IITM Pravartak, in the presence of Mr. Suresh Kumar, State Project Officer (SPO), Samagra Shiksha, Mrs. Sangeeta Chand, Principal, A&NISCERT, Mr. Nagarajan P., Managing Trustee, Open Mentor Trust, and Dr. SivaSubramanian, Global Convenor, VidyaShakti, were present.
The collaboration is aimed at leveraging the academic and technological expertise of IIT Madras and its partner initiatives to provide enhanced learning opportunities to students and professional support to teachers, particularly in Mathematics and Science education for students of Classes VI to VIII.
The Vidya Shakti initiative to provide online academic mentoring and quality learning support to students in 100 government schools across nine educational zones of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The collaboration will leverage technology to bridge geographical gaps, expand access to academic resources, and strengthen meaningful classroom-level learning opportunities. outcomes.
