Port Blair, Jun 28: Mr. B. P Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands in his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor has requested him to release a handsome amount for the distressed people of Uttarakhand who suffered from a drastic flood due to cloud burst.
Explaining the Lt. Governor about the situation Mr. Ray said that many of the dharamshalas, hotels and other infrastructures are damaged because of the flood. Several causalities are reported and link to hill tops where temples are situates are broken and the Army has taken up the recue and evacuation operation thousands of residents and tourist are already evacuated and still the work for search and rescue is going on.
Explaining the situation he earnestly requested the Lt. Governor to release a handsome amount from LG’s relief fund for the flood victims.
