Port Blair, Jun 28: Mr. B.P Ray. Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands in his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor has informed him that the villagers of Ward No, 06 under Gram Panchayat Garacharma- II, Port Blair are facing problems for not providing Rural Road since 1989. The villagers are the permanent residents of these Islands and residing at Garacharma Village right from the day of allotment of land.
He added that 24 years has completed but no rural road has been constructed/ provided to the villagers after the allotment of the land and due to that the villagers are facing lots of problems. This is the legitimate demand of the villager to complete rural road from the Mona House to Durga House and from Ganeshan House to Chetram House of ward No. 06 Garacharma -II. In fact the construction of road of that area is to be undertaken by the PRI long back but the PRI has not taken care ,of it and due to that the villager of that area has not been provided permanent rural road.
He earnestly requested the Lt. Governor to look into this matter and assign the work to APWD Authority for construction after due survey during this current financial year. In this connection he enclosed the request letter signed by the villager.
