Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 31: The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), in association with UT-ATMA under Rangat jurisdiction, conducted two demonstration programmes on 29th August 2026 for the benefit of poultry farmers in the area.
A demonstration on Deworming and Vaccination of Chicks was organised at the residence of Mrs. Anjan Mondal, R/o Dashratpur. During the session, the farmers were explained the importance of timely deworming and vaccination of chicks to prevent diseases and ensure healthy growth of the birds. The correct method and schedule of vaccination were also demonstrated.
Another demonstration on Brooder Management was conducted at the residence of Mrs. Arpita Halder, R/o Sabri. The farmers were sensitised about scientific brooding practices, maintenance of proper temperature, hygiene and management of chicks during the early growth period for better survival and productivity.
Various inputs, including chick feeders, chick drinkers and net mesh/shade, were also provided to the farmers to improve farm structure and facilitate better chick management. The participating farmers showed keen interest in adopting the scientific practices demonstrated during the programmes.
These field-level demonstrations form part of the Department’s continuous efforts to promote scientific poultry farming practices among livestock farmers.
