
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 30: In continuation of the ongoing DC–SP Cup Inter-Village Cultural Competition being organised by the District Administration, South Andaman, under the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”, the second day of the cultural competition was held today at Wandoor Beach.
Various Panchayats under Ferrargunj Tehsil participated in the event and presented Nukkad Natak and Group Singing performances before the jury and the audience. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, particularly children and youth.
The event was graced by Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, District South Andaman, as the Chief Guest. Her presence and words of encouragement motivated the participants and added to the enthusiasm of the event.
The Nukkad Natak performances conveyed strong and meaningful messages on the adverse impact of drug abuse and the importance of promoting a drug-free society. The Group Singing performances further reinforced the message of Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat while showcasing the cultural talent of the participating Panchayats.
The enthusiastic participation of children and youth was particularly noteworthy. The participants displayed confidence, creativity and commitment while presenting their performances and spreading awareness on the importance of staying away from substance abuse.
At the conclusion of the programme, the jury members were felicitated by the Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, in recognition of their valuable contribution and support towards the successful conduct of the competition.
The second day of the DC–SP Cup Inter-Village Cultural Competition at Wandoor Beach concluded successfully, with enthusiastic public participation and commendable performances by the participating Panchayats.
The Finals of the DC–SP Cup Inter-Village Cultural Competition will be held at Carbyn’s Cove Beach on 5th September, 2026.
