Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 21: The Chief Secretary felicitated and blessed karate athletes from the Islands who won medals at the All India Karate Championship held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, appreciating their achievements and dedication to the sport.
The medal-winning karate kids are being trained under the coaching guidance of Dr. M.D. Selvam, Chief Coach of SKDA and a 7th Dan Black Belt from Japan. The Chief Secretary congratulated the young athletes for their performance and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in martial arts.
The Chief Secretary also lauded the contribution of Dr. M.D. Selvam and blessed him to continue his dedicated services in the field of martial arts, particularly in nurturing and training young athletes.
Dr. M.D. Selvam has been imparting training in Karate and other martial arts for more than three and a half decades. Over the years, his trainees have brought recognition to the Islands by winning medals and Champion of Champions trophies at various national and international competitions.
