Sri Vijaya Puram, July 29: To mark the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima and to commemorate the 50th Golden Jubilee Year of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), the VKV Alumni Association organized a special sapling planting program.
The Tree Planting Ceremony commenced at 11:30 AM at the ANIIMS campus, Corbyn’s Cove. The event celebrated the institution’s 50 Years of Excellence in Education (1977–2027) under the guiding principle, “Serve Man, Serve God.”
This green initiative was successfully conducted in close coordination with Mr. V.V.Dinesh Kumar, DFO(Swaraj Dweep) & Forest Department, Garacharma Range. The collaborative effort brought together educators, former students, and environmental custodians to foster a greener future.
The planting drive was led by VKV Principal Mrs. Jaya Sivasankaran and Senior Teacher Mr. Venugopal. Active Participation: Enthusiastic members of the VKV Alumni Association joined hands with Forest Officers and dedicated forest staff from the Garacharma Range. Environmental Contribution: Demonstrating a commitment to the local ecosystem, the participants successfully planted 20 local fruit-bearing saplings across the campus grounds.
