
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 09: A delegation led by the Andaman and Nicobar Chamber of Commerce industry ANCCI, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary (Transport), Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS, and held detailed discussions on various important issues related to the tourism and transport sectors of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The delegation included the Vice President of the Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce industry, Mr. Rajesh Puriya; General Secretary, Mr. Madan Lal; Mr. Rajesh Anand
President of the Andaman Nicobar Tour Operators Association (ANTOA), Mr. Simson; President of the Large Vehicle (Tempo Traveller) Association, Mr. Suresh, along with his team; and President of the Andaman Tourist Cab Association, Mr. Deepak Shankar, along with his team.
During the meeting, several important issues related to the tourism industry, such as vehicle parking, tourism vehicle permits, fitness certificates, difficulties in the permit process, and other administrative problems, were discussed in detail. In addition, the shortage of Tourist vehicles in Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) and Shaheed Dweep (Neil), as well as issues related to large vehicles, were also prominently raised.
Secretary (Transport) Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS, listened seriously to all the issues raised by the delegation and assured that necessary steps would be taken soon to resolve these problems. He also stated that the department would work with a positive approach to strengthen the tourism sector and make the transport system more simple, effective, and convenient.
The delegation also presented all their demands and suggestions in a positive and constructive spirit and expressed confidence that these efforts would give new momentum to the tourism sector of Andaman and Nicobar, increase employment opportunities, and further strengthen the local tourism industry.
In the end, the President of the Andaman Nicobar Tour Operators Association (ANTOA), Mr. Simson, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members of the delegation, the Andaman and Nicobar Chamber of Commerce, and Secretary (Transport) ,Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS, for giving their time, engaging in a positive discussion, and assuring their cooperation.
