Sri Vijaya Puram, June 18: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a flagship Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, launched in February 2019 to provide income support of Rs. 6,000 per annum to eligible landholding farmer families through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their Aadhaar-linked and DBT-enabled active bank accounts. Since its inception, an amount of more than Rs. 64.48 crore has been transferred to farmers of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through 22 installments.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will release the 23rd installment of PM-KISAN to eligible beneficiaries for the period April 2026 to July 2026 from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal on 20th June, 2026.
In view of the significance of the occasion and to enhance outreach among the farming community, 20th June, 2026 will be observed as “PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas” in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in coordination with ICAR-KVKs.
On this occasion, various programmes and awareness activities will be organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Blocks and Gram Panchayats involving farmers, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and field functionaries.
During the event, farmers will also join the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s programme from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal through the webcast available at https://pmindiawebcast.nic.in/ from 3.45 PM onwards.
