Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 22: Senior Congress leader Mr. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Sri Vijaya Puram on April 26 at around 8 am from Kolkata as part of his visit to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
According to party sources, soon after a brief halt in Sri Vijaya Puram, he will proceed the same day to Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar by helicopter. During his visit to Great Nicobar, he is expected to visit Galathia Bay and Indira Point and stay at Campbell Bay overnight.
On April 27, Mr. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to return to Sri Vijaya Puram at around 11 am. Party leaders are planning to organize a roadshow from the helipad, passing through key areas including Bazaar and Junglighaat. This will be followed by a Karyakarta meet at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium in Sri Vijaya Puram.
Party sources further stated that Rahul Gandhi is likely to return to the mainland the following day after concluding his engagements in the Islands.
Meanwhile, a meeting of senior leaders of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) was held at the Congress Office today to chalk out detailed arrangements and finalize the programme for the visit.
