Sri Vijaya Puram, April 22:A tragic accident was reported from the Dollygunj area this evening , where a labourer lost his life after being buried under soil during ongoing foundation work.
According to initial information, the incident occurred near the cattle pound area in Shiv Colony, Dollygunj. As per details, labourers were engaged in digging work when a sudden collapse of soil trapped at least two to three workers. While two of them managed to escape safely, one labourer remained trapped beneath the debris.
Sources said that the mishap likely took place sometime between 5.00 PM to 5:30 PM, when information about the incident first surfaced. Rescue efforts were immediately initiated, and the trapped worker was eventually pulled out after removing the soil. However, by the time emergency services reached the spot, the labourer had already succumbed. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the collapse and whether proper safety measures were in place at the site. The identity of the deceased was yet to be confirmed at the time of filing this report.
