
Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 19: A meeting of the Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) was successfully conducted at PHC Billiground on 18th April 2026(Saturday) under chairmanship of . (Pradhan GP Harinagar) to review hospital performance, assess the utilization of JAS funds, and plan for their effective utilization in the upcoming financial year to strengthen healthcare services. During the meeting, the hospital census and service utilization were reviewed. Detailed discussions were held on the expenditure for the last financial year 2025–26, and the committee expressed satisfaction over the proper utilization of funds. All expenditures were approved by the members. Several key issues related to infrastructure and service delivery were discussed. These included the need for repair and maintenance of the ambulance, procurement of essential furniture such as chairs, wheelchairs, stretchers, and trolleys, and improvements in ward facilities like curtains, mosquito nets, and patient beds. Requirements for kitchen utensils and biomedical waste management supplies were also highlighted. The committee also discussed challenges related to the irregular supply of gas cylinders and delays in reimbursement for their purchase, emphasizing the need for timely availability. Minor repair works in the labour room, wards, and other hospital areas were also proposed to enhance patient care and facility conditions.
Planning for the upcoming International Yoga Day was also taken up, with discussions on necessary arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all members to address the identified issues and further strengthen the functioning of PHC Billiground for better patient care and community health services.
