He highly appreciated the consistent efforts of the AH&VS Department in reaching out to tribal areas and providing quality inputs to the farmers. He further urged all beneficiaries to seek regular veterinary assistance to maintain the health and productivity of their livestock and to adopt scientific rearing practices for better results.
The event concluded with a strong appeal to more villagers to come forward and join the mission, paving the way for sustainable livelihood opportunities and enhanced food security in the region. This distribution is part of the Department’s ongoing drive to achieve the target of supplying over 2,00,000 day-old chicks and ducklings across the islands, with special focus on empowering tribal and remote communities through scientific poultry rearing. The initiative not only aims to increase egg and meat production but also to generate self-employment and improve the nutritional status of tribal households.
The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services remains committed to expanding such distribution programmes and providing continuous technical support, training, and inputs to farmers so that the benefits of the “Mission Two Lakh” reach every corner of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
