Car Nicobar region have already made their presence felt in the national football arena: Baichung

Port Blair, May 20: The National football superstar Baichung Bhutia was on a visit to Car Nicobar today. The football loving crazy fans were anxiously waiting for his arrival at the helipad at Kakna. In the the afternoon a match was played at the Bishop John Richardson stadium Tamaloo, between Baichung Sikkim United Club Vs Car Nicobar-XI. The visiting team won the exhibition match by 2-1.

Later addressing the gathering Bhutia said that the players of Car Nicobar region have already made their presence felt in the national football arena. Remembering the valuable contribution of the champion local footballer Thomas Khushboo, he said that that the football fans of the country still remember the magical skills of Khushboo on the play ground.

Appreciating the efforts of the International Cycling champion Deborah a sportsperson from Kakana, Baichung said that Deborah brought laurels to the country by winning medals in the recently held Asian Hero Cycling Championship. He hoped that many more young sportsmen from the Island will emerge and would display their talents in the National and International Sports. Mr Baichung Bhutia left for Port Blair after the match in the evening.
