
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 07: On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a special commemorative Padyatra was jointly organized by Mera Yuva Bharat Rangat (MY Bharat) in collaboration with the District Administration, Rangat, on 06/12/ 2025 at Zill Parishad Hall, Rangat. The event began with a padyatra (unity march) from Zilla Parishad Hall, Rangat to Hawamahal Junction and Back to Zilla Parishad Hall Rangat.
The programme aimed to honour the life and contributions of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and to promote the spirit of unity, integrity, and nationalism among the youth and the community. A large number of participants, including NCC, students, officials, PRI members and the public, took part in the event with great enthusiasm.
Miss. Sita Majhi, Pramukh, Rangat graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Sushim Kumar Biswas, DEO, Rangat attended as the Guest of Honour.
Around 450 participants from PM Shri. GSSS Sabari Junction, GSSS Rangat, GSS Nimbutala, GSSS Bakultala, Police Department, Education Department, Health Department, and various Panchayats participated in the event.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, Joint Director, Mera Yuva Bharat who highlighted the significance of celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This was followed by tribute and garlanding of Patel’s portrait by the dignitaries.
The Chief Guest administered the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) pledge, urging all participants to contribute towards building a self-reliant and united nation. She then flagged off the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rally, which began from Zilla Parishad Hall, Rangat to Hawamahal Junction and concluded at the Zilla Parishad Hall, Rangat.
Students from GSSS Rangat presented a vibrant cultural programme highlighting themes of patriotism and national unity.
Another Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge was administered to the participants by the AD Sports Mr. V. Ranjit Kumar during the event.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, who expressed gratitude to all departments, panchayats, and participants for their cooperation and contribution. The programme ended with the National Anthem evoking a sense of pride and unity among all present.
