Port Blair, Feb 22: The Secretary General, National Human Right Commission, New Delhi, Mr. Rajiv Sharma is scheduled to arrive at Port Blair on February 23, 2012 on a three-day visit to the islands.
During his stay here, the Secretary General will be holding two meetings, one with Chief Secretary, Secretary (SW) and officials of Social Welfare department regarding women and child development issues and the other with Chief Secretary, DGP, Secretary (Law)-IG Prison and other concerned officers of the Administration besides visiting District Jail Prothrapur to see about the living conditions of the prisoners. On completion of visit, the Secretary General will leave for mainland on February 26, 2012.
