
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 27: Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), in collaboration with the State Health Society under the National Tele-MANAS programme, launched a comprehensive 10-day Mental Health Awareness Programme in its Institution from 27th November 2025 (Thursday). A team of clinical psychologists, counselors, and psychiatric social workers from Tele-MANAS and the Department of Psychiatry, ANIIMS/GB Pant Hospital will conduct structured sessions on stress management, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and early help-seeking behaviour.
All students from 18 departments will be attending the sessions, along with the boys’ and girls’ hostel inmates. The first-day session was attended by the students of Geography and Botany Departments. In her opening remarks, Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, expressed hope that this initiative would strengthen mental health awareness on campus. She also stressed that equipping students with essential life skills will ensure a safe and supportive academic environment. The 10-day program is being coordinated by Dr. Dipon Sharmah, HOD Botany and Member, Mental Well Being Committee, JNRM.
