Mayabunder, Nov. 24: Ms. Sherly Shephra, daughter of Mr. Saw Pharow of the Education Department and granddaughter of Mr. Saw Endrew, Retired Ranger of the Forest Department, Webi, Mayabunder, has brought pride to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by winning the gold medal in the 65–70 kg category at the Boxing Federation of India Youth Tournament held in Delhi from November 21 to 24.
Her remarkable achievement has been widely appreciated, with former Pramukh of Mayabunder, Mr. Abdul Siddique, extending his heartfelt congratulations. He praised Sherly’s dedication, hard work and perseverance, which led to this outstanding success.
He also conveyed his appreciation to her coach, Mr. Bikram Pariyar, for his continuous guidance and support in shaping Sherly’s performance.
Mr. Siddique said Sherly’s accomplishment stands as a testament to the immense talent and potential of the youth of the islands.
