Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 06: A cloud of mystery and suspicion hangs over the death of a 20-year-old youth from North and Middle Andaman, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Bengaluru late last month. The family of the deceased has now approached the police, alleging that it was not a suicide, but a well-planned murder.
According to a written complaint submitted to the Officer-in-Charge, Police Station Billiground by the father of the deceased, Mr. Biswajit Sarkar, his son, Mr. Sujay Sarkar, was a second-year D.Pharm student studying at R.R. College, Bengaluru, and residing in a rented room near the campus.
The family has alleged that Sujay’s death on September 29, 2025, was staged to look like a suicide, while in reality, he was allegedly murdered by a group of individuals known to him.
In their complaint, the family claimed that Sujay had been in regular contact with them until shortly before his death and had never shown signs of distress or depression. His sudden death, they said, came as a shock, raising serious doubts about the circumstances surrounding it.
The family suspects that Sujay was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered, and that his body was later placed in his room to mislead the authorities. They further alleged that several persons may be involved in the incident and urged the police to ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice. Photos of Sujay taken by his friends shortly before his death shows multiple injury marks all over his body.
The complaint also highlighted that the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Soladevanahalli Police Station in Bengaluru, where the initial investigation was conducted. However, the family feels that critical leads may have been overlooked and has now sought assistance from the local police in Andaman to pursue the matter more vigorously.
Meanwhile, talking to Andaman Sheekha the Superintendent of Police of North and Middle Andaman, Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS said that the case is not under the jurisdiction of Andaman and Nicobar police and that action must be taken from concerned police station. However, she said that when the father of the victim came to submit the complaint, she spoke to the DCP of the concerned area and requested a proper inquiry.
The family has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and senior police officials of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to intervene and ensure that the matter is investigated thoroughly. “We just want justice for our son,” the family reportedly said in their letter.
Many believe that based on the father’s complaint, a team of senior police officials should be sent to the concerned area so that atleast facts can be crossed checked so that the family gets justice.
As the investigation proceeds, questions remain unanswered about what truly happened to Sujay in Bengaluru — was it a tragic suicide or a meticulously planned murder? Only a detailed probe will tell.
