
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 26: Competitions were held on Saturday at Andaman Law College in education, essay writing, drawing/poster making, and slogan writing among students. The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. and Andaman Harbour Works sponsored these competitions. As many as 65 students participated in various events. The topic for the elocution is “Role of Youth in Fighting against Corruption—Threat to Democracy,” and for essay writing, “Shared Responsibility of the Youth for Viksit Bharat-2047.” For poster making and slogan writing, also, the subjects remain the same. While inaugurating the competitions, Principal of the College Dr. P.V. Nagendra Sarma urged the students to raise their voices against corruption in public life that is eating away at the vitals of democracy. Coordinator of the events Ms. Nisha Sikdar, Assistant Prof. in English, explained guidelines to the participating students. The Faculty of Law and Humanities conducted and judged the competitions. Ms Ambilisree Manager, Shipping Corporation of India, and Mr Subrata Bala, Vigilance Officer, Harbour Works, attended. The winners will get their prizes and mementos at a seminar to be held on 1st November on “Vigilance: A Shared Responsibility.” All India Radio, Sri Vijaya Puram, is conducting the same with the same theme.
