Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 26: The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs organized ‘Open Road Race – 10 Km for Men and 5 Km for Women’ today at Netaji Stadium Sports Complex under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Mr. Gyan Sheel Dubey, HoO, Directorate of Education as chief guest, flagged off the Road race. The main objective of this race was to keep the youth away from drugs and encourage them to participate in Sports.
The run started from Netaji Stadium to Megapode Chowk (Men)/ Netaji Stadium to Marine Research Laboratory (Women) and returned back to Netaji Stadium as Finishing Point.
Altogether 250 participants from School, College and various organizations as well as general public participated in the Road race and the results are as under:

The winners were presented with Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals and consolation prizes by the chief guest. The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs in order to carry forward the spirit will be organizing a similar Road Race on Nov. 8 at Netaji Stadium.
