
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 19: The Organisation for South and South East Asia Development (OFSSEAD), in association with the Directorate of Sports and Gram Panchayat, Wimberly Gunj, successfully organized the Open Champion’s Trophy Men’s Day & Night Football Tournament 2025 at the Mini Stadium, Wimberly Gunj.
The thrilling final match, held on 18th October 2025, featured an exciting contest between United Sporting Club (USC) and AB Wimberly Gunj. In a stunning display of teamwork and determination, United Sporting Club triumphed with an emphatic 4–0 victory, claiming the Champion’s Trophy, while AB Wimberly Gunj secured the Runner-up position after a spirited performance.
The grand finale was graced by Er. Prjith Rekh, Chief Engineer, APWD, as the Chief Guest, and Er. Mumtaz Ali, Executive Engineer, RCD, APWD, as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries praised OFSSEAD for its continued dedication to nurturing sportsmanship and fostering youth development in the islands.
Speaking at the event, Er. Prjith Rekh applauded the players for their discipline and enthusiasm, emphasizing that sports build unity, resilience, and leadership among youth. Er. Mumtaz Ali echoed the sentiment, appreciating OFSSEAD’s tireless efforts in organizing community-driven events that strengthen social harmony and inspire future athletes.
In his address, Mr. Mohd. Rafique, General Secretary of OFSSEAD, remarked:
