
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 10: As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a comprehensive health screening camp under the TB Free Workplace Initiative was organized today, 10th October 2025, at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, with the objective of promoting the health and well-being of officials and staff.
The camp focused on the early detection and prevention of Tuberculosis (TB), along with Non Cummincable Disease (NCD) screening for common health conditions such as Hypertension and Diabetes. The health check-up included blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, and chest X-rays to identify early signs of TB.
A total of 61 Officials / Staff of District Administration were screened during the camp, out of which 49 chest X-rays were conducted for TB screening. The initiative received an encouraging response from the staff and was successfully facilitated with the support of healthcare professionals from the District Health Department.
Early detection plays a vital role in effective treatment, and this initiative highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring the health and welfare of its employees. Similar preventive health camps will continue to be encouraged across departments in the district to promote awareness, early diagnosis, and timely management of both lifestyle-related and communicable diseases.
