Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 3: As part of the closing ceremony of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, a cleanliness drive was conducted on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti celebration yesterday along the road connecting Bimblitan Village to NH-4 under the jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat Sippighat.
The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from Dr. Apurva Sharma, Director (RD/Panchayat), Smt. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer, Prothrapur, Smt. Jyothi, Pradhan, GP Sippighat, officials of the Directorate of RD, Block and Panchayat Office, sanitary workers of the Gram Panchayats as well as nearby villagers. Together, the participants undertook the cleaning initiative to promote awareness on hygiene, sanitation, and community participation in keeping public spaces clean.
Following the drive, the Director visited the Gaushala established at Bimblitan Village. He appreciated the commendable efforts of the Gram Panchayat Sippighat in creating the facility and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in managing stray cattle effectively. He further suggested exploring a tie-up with the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council to relocate stray cattle roaming in municipal areas to the Gaushala at Bimblitan, thereby ensuring their proper care and management.
The program concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to continue the spirit of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign beyond its official closing, reaffirming that cleanliness is a continuous mission and a shared duty of every citizen.
