
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 26: Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang, Mr. Alager Swamy, met the Chief Engineer of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) at Port Blair on Friday to highlight several urgent issues affecting the people of Baratang.
During the meeting, Mr. Swamy raised concerns about the acute shortage of Junior Engineers following recent transfers, the immediate need to replace the damaged water pump at Adazig, and the non-availability of treated water to residents of Khatta Khari and Wrafters Creek villages. He also stressed the importance of prioritising check dam development in the region.
A detailed written representation covering these matters was formally submitted to the Chief Engineer. In response, the Chief Engineer assured prompt and positive action to resolve the issues.
