Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 21: As part of the preparations for the ‘10th Ayurveda Day 2025”, with the theme ‘Ayurveda for People and Planet,’ along with the Rashtriya Poshan Maah and Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan, the AYUSH Wing of DHS conducted an Ayurveda-based Health Talk along with a Health Camp at ANCOL Campus yesterday.
The programme aimed to spread awareness about preventive healthcare and the importance of Ayurveda in promoting holistic well-being among students and faculty members. During the session, Dr Anju Jayan, Medical Officer (Ayurveda) highlighted the role of Ayurveda in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, diet and daily regimen, seasonal care practices, and simple home remedies for common ailments. During the camp, Dr Meena V. Natkar, JRF PPvC (AYUSH), briefly explained about drug safety in Ayurveda medicines and advised to use them only under medical supervision and also cautioned against misleading advertisement claiming instant or permanent cure, and reminded that safe and effective use of Ayurveda requires consultation with qualified practitioners.
As part of the programme, a Health Camp was also organized where basic health check-ups, counseling, and medicines were provided to the beneficiaries. Altogether 38 beneficiaries were examined and treated.
