Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 21: As part of the ongoing “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign, the Municipal Council organized a Visible Cleanliness Drive today across all 24 Wards of the Council.
The initiatives were aimed at encouraging public participation and inculcate a sense of collective responsibility in keeping the city clean and hygienic. During the drive, Safai Mitras carried out extensive cleaning activities, including the removal of dry and wet waste, trimming of bushes and cleaning of main roads and adjoining areas, thereby enhancing overall sanitation across the Wards.
Councilors, residents and local community groups joined hands with the Safai Mitras in the cleanliness efforts. Their participation reflected the true spirit of “Jan Bhagidari”, highlighting the message that cleanliness is not merely the duty of municipal workers but a shared responsibility of every citizen.
On the occasion, SVPMC officials highlighted that such drives are helpful in raising awareness about waste segregation, scientific disposal methods and the importance of maintaining hygienic surroundings. They also urged citizens to carry forward the momentum of the campaign in their daily lives and contribute towards building a cleaner city.
