
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 17: The Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, in association with the National Service Scheme Unit of JNRM, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp at the JNRM Auditorium on the occasion of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birth anniversary.
The Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, the largest Jain youth organization engaged in service activities across India and abroad, organizes mega blood donation camps every year. This year, like in the past, it is expected to collect around 3 lakh units of blood from various camps held simultaneously across the country.
The camp at JNRM was inaugurated by Lt. Governor Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) and Vice Chairman, Island Development Agency, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In his address, the Lt. Governor appreciated the efforts of the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and NSS, JNRM, for organizing such a noble programme. He emphasized that the progress of society and the nation depends on people’s willingness to serve and contribute while preserving cultural values.
Also present on the occasion were Chanchal Yadav, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary and Chief Secretary (In-charge); Richa, Secretary (Health); Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services; Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society; Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal JNRM; and Rajesh Puriya, Local Coordinator of Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad.
A total of 81 donors voluntarily donated blood at the camp. The technical team from the Blood Centre, G.B. Pant Hospital, and A&N AIDS Control Society ensured proper screening for transmissible diseases and eligibility checks. Donor certificates were also distributed.
The programme began with a welcome address by Mahender Marlecha, Coordinator, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kandimuthu, Assistant Professor and NSS Coordinator, JNRM.
