Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 24: Pursuing its zero-tolerance policy towards land encroachments, the District Administration, South Andaman conducted a major eviction drive at Haddo Village targeting unauthorized encroachments on Government Revenue land.
The operation was spearheaded by the Revenue Department with active coordination and support from the Police Department and Staff from SVPMC. Earth-moving machineries were deployed to execute the demolition and clearance of the encroached areas in a systematic and efficient manner. The encroachments had been committed in the form of Structures and shops.
As a result of the drive, a total of 10 Nos. unauthorized structures were removed. The coordinated action led to the restoration of approximately 600 Sq. Mtr. of prime government land back into the official records (government khata), thereby safeguarding public assets for rightful and planned use in the future.
