Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 24: As part of the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, District Health Society (SA) through its National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) in coordination with Directorate of Health Services conducted an awareness session on Tuberculosis (TB) at Andaman Law College on Saturday.
Dr. Arjun Sivadas K K, Senior Medical Officer, Nodal DRTB Centre, GB Pant Hospital sensitized students and faculty on the prevention, symptoms, and treatment of TB. An insightful video on the Ni-kshay Mitra Yojana was screened to highlight the importance of community participation in supporting TB patients with nutritional and emotional care.
On the occasion, Dr. P. V. Nagendra Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, led the gathering in taking the TB Mukt Bharat Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to eliminating TB and building a healthier nation.
The event witnessed active participation of students and underscored the vital role of youth in spreading awareness and contributing towards India’s mission of a TB-free future.
