Sri VijayaPuram, Jun 06: Jan ShikshanSansthan (JSS), South Andaman, successfully inaugurated a Beauty and Wellness Training Course in ShaheedDweep, with two batches and 40 beneficiaries registered for the program. The inauguration ceremony was graced by key dignitaries, including Vice Chairman Mr. K. Vijay Kumar, Director Ms.MaryaSheela, Miss Pinky Das, Pradhan, ShaheedDweep, Miss Augustina Henry, Medical officer(In-Charge) ShaheedDweep, Miss LipikaMondal, ANM, Directorate of Health Services, Mr.BiplabBairagi, A&N Police, Mr.Mohammad Abdul Abid, Panchayat Secretary, Directorate of RD PRI & ULB’s, Mr.Sudamay Roy, Sarpanch, Miss Chamali Das, SHG CRP, Miss Mousumisil, FNHW & Gender CRP and other Panchayat Members. As per the Ministry’s guidelines, the event incorporated awareness sessions from multiple agencies to ensure holistic development. Dr.Augustinaconducted an informative talk on health and hygiene, emphasizing its importance in the beauty profession. Mr. Vijay Kumar addressed the trainees on cyber security, while the Police Department shared essential traffic rules and regulations. In a significant announcement, PradhanMrs. Pinkey Das revealed thatShaheedDweep currently has no beauty parlour and assured that the best-performing trainees would be granted a shop by the Panchayat to establish the island’s first beauty parlour, fostering self-employment opportunities. This initiative aims to empower local women with vocational skills, enhancing their livelihood prospects while meeting the island’s demand for professional beauty services. The event concluded on an enthusiastic note, with beneficiaries eager to begin their training and contribute to the island’s growing service industry.
