Sri VijayaPuram, Jun 06: As part of the ongoing efforts to promote women rights and empowerment, The State Hub for Empowerment of Women under the Directorate of Social Welfare has conducted an awareness program on Legal rights for women and teenage girls. This initiative aims to educate women about their legal entitlements and provide them with the knowledge and tools to assert their rights.
The program was conducted in collaboration with “SAKHI” One Stop Centre at Multipurpose Community Hall, Buniyadabad and was attended by 41 participants. During the awareness program Mr. K Ganeshan (Ward Councilor) encouraged the young girls to raise voice against abuse and harassment. Ms.Rukshaar Rahim, (Para-Legal Personnel) from OSC created awareness about legal rights and entitlements, while encouraging the participants to report such cases. The women and teenage girls were explained about types of harassment and abuse by Dr.NituSindhu and mentioned that empowering women with legal knowledge is crucial for achieving equality and justice.
The program was concluded by Mrs. P DeepaLaxmi (Gender Specialist) stating that the prime objective of Social Welfare & SHEW is to create a society where women and young children are aware of their legal rights and can exercise them without fear and hindrance.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Mr.Ravinder Kumar (Director, of Social Welfare) and Ms.Reeta Devi (Nodal officer, SHEW). The Social Welfare Department requests the general public to work together and empower women to create a most just and equal society.
