Port Blair, Mar 31: The Tailoring and Fashion Designing Course at Mahila Mandal Hall Guptapara run by A&N State Cooperative Union was inaugurated today by Smti Rina Ray, Principal Secretary Education, Planning and Health.
Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU while welcoming the Chief guest, Dignitaries , Board of Directors, PRI members and the gatherings stated that ANSCU is taking initiative to introduce free Tailoring and Fashion Designing centers all over islands for the skill development and financial upliftment of the housewives and unemployed girls, especially of rural areas. He hoped that the womenfolk of Guptapara village will learn techniques of tailoring, fashion designing, doll making, wool work, wall hangings and glass/tiles paintings etc and use the skill for earning their livelihood and be self independent. Sharma hoped that maximum number of womenfolk will take this opportunity which has come to their doors as now they need not go to Port Blair for acquiring such training by paying hard earned money of their head of family.
In her speech, the Chief Guest Smti Rina Ray stated that women, whether rich or poor have to find out their own way to establish themselves. Under no circumstances they should be disheartened rather fight for their self independence Giving example, she told that she was born with silver spoon in her mouth and spent her childhood with all luxury but days turned and she had to face the most horrible days of poverty due to her father’s illness. Remembering her childhood, she told that after coming back submitting her papers for class Xth she found her father at Coma. She became speechless to see this.
But she did not lose her heart and submitted other papers and concentrated to her studies day and night apart from serving her upset mother, father in coma and handicapped sister. At the Graduation level she was the university topper and passed her IAS examination at the first instant. But she has served her parents as their son and took care of her sister till such time they were surviving. Being blessed by her parents and through her efforts she has now reached to her present status. Rina, thus told every woman present in the function to fight against their bad days for a brighter future and never be frightened or upset with their odd days, keeping always in mind that they are having super natural hidden power in them.. She told the womenfolk to serve their parents, have positive thinking and be involved in good works as God is watching our activities. Adding to her speech, she told that “Kuldeep is giving chance to you all for a better life, catch it and be self independent”.
She thanked Kuldeep who is taking all selfless care to give new life to the rural women and doing his duty to the society. At the outset Smti Ray saw the handicraft items minutely prepared by the women and recorded her praise for their intelligence. NN Nag, ZP Member Ananthkrishan, DGM, NABARD, SS Das, Pradhan Guptapara also spoke on the occasion. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ghayas Meshak, Vice Chairman, ANSCU
