Sri Vujaya Puram, Nov 13: The General Body meeting of Clerical Cadre Branch of Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 09th November, 2024 at Port Blair which discussed upon various issues pertaining to the AC Cadre employees working in Andaman and Nicobar Administration. Speaking on the occasion, as the Chief Guest, Mr. P.Sathyapal, Former President of NGOs’ Association urged upon the AC Cadre staff to do their work sincerely while knowing about their genuine rights and to fight for achieving it. He advised the members to remain united for the ongoing struggles against the anti-employees’ policies of the central government. Mr. R.Surendran Pillai, Former Asst. General Secretary of NGOs’ Association recalled the valiant struggles of the Association for various benefits which are being enjoyed by the AC Cadre employees at present like Cadre re-structuring, stopping directing recruitment to the post of Head Clerk, Government quarters, etc. Presenting his views, General Secretary of the Association, Mr. R.Rajendran, highlighted the recent achievements of the Association in which few staff from A & N Administration were inducted in DANICS Cadre after strong intervention by UT Administration, filling up of vacant posts, timely promotion to the staff of all categories, CGHS facilities to all pensioners, etc.
Earlier, Mrs. Usha Rajendran, Vice President of the Association welcomed the members of the Association and urged them to remain in unity with the NGOs’ Association which is one of the oldest and recognised service Association of these islands. Mr. Salman Khan, Secretary of the branch presented the working report of the functioning of Clerical Cadre branch while Mrs. Geeta Surendran, Treasurer presented the Accounts Report.
Mr. R.D.Yadav, Vice President, Mr. S.L.Vinjit, Asst. General Secretary and Mr. E A Johnson, Finance Secretary of NGOs’ Association also expressed their views in the general body meeting. Members actively participated in the discussions and several resolutions pertaining to the issues of AC Cadre employees were adopted in the meeting. The meeting elected new office bearers for the year 2024 -25. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Dipankar Saha.
