Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 06: Government ITI Dollygunj launched its Mega Job Fair today, drawing a crowd of approximately 200 candidates accompanied by their parents, where they explored promising career paths in India’s prominent construction company. This event, which will continue till November 14, provides a unique platform for job-seekers to meet prospective employers and gain insights into industry expectations.
The fair began with an inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony led by the chief guest, Shri Srinivasa Rao, Labour Commissioner & DET, Shri Dharani Natrajan, L&T-CSTI, Representative, Shri Venketesh.Ch., Principal/ Deputy Apprenticeship Advisor to symbolize hope and new beginnings.
The chief guest, Shri Srinivasa Rao, commended the collaboration between Govt. ITI Dollygunj and industry partners such as L&T. He spoke on the importance of skill development in today’s economy, reminding the candidates that their skills are pivotal for the growth of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and beyond.
Earlier, Shri Venketesh. Ch, Principal ITI/Deputy Apprenticeship Advisor, welcomed the participants and highlighted about Govt. ITI’s commitment to providing quality training and career opportunities to the Islands youth, emphasizing that, this fair embodies the institute’s mission to equip the youths with skills, that meet industry demands. He encouraged the candidates to make the most of this opportunity, reiterating that, their hard work and dedication are vital in achieving a successful career.
Shri Dharani Natrajan, representative of L&T CSTI, Kanchipuram, who has partnered with Government ITI Dollygunj for over a decade, shared his reflections on the Institution’s role in shaping a skilled workforce. His speech underscored the value of hands-on training, industry alignment, and commitment to professional growth.
The key highlight was an online address and presentation by Shri M. Niranjan Mishra, Advisor, L&T, Shri D. Baiju Dasappan, Principal L&T- CSTI and Shri Ashwat Arun Shetty from L&T-CSTI, Kanchipuram, who shared insights on the career opportunities within L&T, and further motivating candidates to pursue industry-specific expertise and skills.

A motivating selection process took place, with 95 candidates ultimately receiving their selection letters on the spot.
