Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 06: The State Institute of Education, Shiksha Sadan conducted a meeting of the Core Committee Members of the SCL (State Centre for Literacy) under ULLAS-Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, in the Conference Hall of Shiksha Sadan, Sri Vijaya Puram recently. The objective of the meeting focused on better implementation of the ULLAS initiatives for Adult Literacy of the Ministry of Education- GOI, and to make these Islands 100% literate by 2027.
The elected public representatives, Mrs. M. Rajani, Adhyaksha Zilla Parishad South Andaman, Mr. Sudip Rai Sharma, Chairman Municipal Council Sri Vijaya Puram, Director of Education, Mr. Aditya Kumar Jha, Mr. D. Sathya Narayan, Up-Pramukh Panchayat Samiti, South Andaman, representatives of UTCPCR / SCPCR, representative of the Department of Social Welfare and the Senior Officials of the Education department & State Nodal Officer ULLAS, Mr. S. Suresh Kumar and Faculty Members of the State Institute of Education were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Mrs. Sangeeta Chand, Principal, State Institute of Education welcomed the gathering and explained that this programme will be responsible for creating awareness among the stake holders like learners belong to age group 15-100 to achieve 100 percent literacy. Programme Coordinator of ULLAS-Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram has elaborated the mandates and purpose of this programme through a Power Point Presentation.
