
Port Blair, July 22: The Skies of Andaman & Nicobar Islands are poised for a transformative leap as the Airports Authority of India has signed a landmark Operation & Maintenance Agreement with the Union Territory Administration of Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 22.07.2024.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Vishwendra Secretary Civil Aviation A&N Administration and Mr. N V Subbarayudu, Executive Director-II (JVC/PP) Airports Authority of India. As per this agreement Airports Authority of India will operate and maintain the airports for five years which can be extended for a further period of five years on mutually agreed terms and conditions. Similar agreement for Shibpur Airport was already signed on 01.09.2023.
Airport Director Mr. Devender Yadav said it is a new chapter in civil aviation excellence. This momentous partnership will usher in the operationalisation of Car Nicobar Airport & Campbell Bay Airport and will make a new era of air connectivity and development for the region.
