Port Blair, May 19: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Internship Scheme 2024 having 24 seats in various areas. The duration of internship shall be of two months, extendable up to three months, depending on the performance of the candidate, requirement of the Ministry and the time the intern is willing to spend with the Ministry. The internship will start from 3rd June, 2024. The online site has been open since May 6, 2024 and the last date for applying is May 21, 2024.
For the larger benefit of the student community and with a view to enrich the management/implementation of its various schemes/programmes, MeitY has decided to notify “Internship Guidelines”, to provide a framework for engagement of Interns for a limited period.
As per the eligibility criteria, Indian students from recognized universities in India who have secured at least 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination and pursuing B.E/B.Tech/M.E/ M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)/ Computer Science (CS)/ IT/ Electronics & Communications (EC) / Electronics/ Electrical), M.Sc. (CS/IT/ Electronics/ Electrical), MCA/DOEACC ‘B’ level, LL.B , B.E/B.Tech (Electronics & Communications (EC)/ Electronics) and MBA (Finance) or M.Sc.(Electronics) and MBA (Finance) are eligible for internship. LL.B students would be considered for internship only for ‘Cyber Laws’ and ‘Public policy on Internet’ areas. B.E/B.Tech (EC) and MBA (Finance) OR M.Sc. (Electronics) and MBA (Finance) students would be considered for internship only for ‘Project appraisal and Funding methodologies for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing units viz. a viz. international economies’ area. The students who are in the last semester or who will pass out in summer 2024 will not be eligible for the internship.
Interested and eligible students need to apply through online only (URL: http://meity.gov.in/schemes). The application needs to be sponsored/ forwarded by the Institution where the applicant is currently enrolled in. The internship will be offered at New Delhi.
